Audacity is a really simple program that does not need a powerful laptop, whether you have a 10-year-old laptop or brand new Mac, it will work on any system. Dan will also signpost to other free resources to continue learning the software in your own timeĪttendees will need to bring a laptop. Led by BBC Radio Leeds producer Dan Purvis, the workshop will talk you through all the basics of the software, from opening a project and adding sounds, to simple editing, adding effects and exporting your work to then be uploaded and shared to any platform you want. The workshops will cover all the basics to enable you to feel equipped to explore Audacity further after the workshops. Hosted at the Garforth Community Hub & Library, the first workshop will be on the free but incredibly powerful audio editing software Audacity, which will enable you to record your own music, podcasts and loads of other content. LEEDS 2023 are excited to be working on a series of free workshops that aim to make creative software training more accessible to Leeds communities.
